๐ŸŒท Spring Tulips, Blondies, Muffins + More

Hi, Reader,

How's it going? My mom and I spent last weekend in Washington's tulip country. I just needed a break and knew that staying in an old farmhouse would do the trick.

Little did we know...that we would be about 2 miles from the biggest tulip farms in the area, 4 miles from the most wonderful little town filled with antique shops and thoughtful small businesses, and surrounded by beautiful sights.

It was such a special experience and honestly, I'm sad it's over! I could gladly go back to visiting bakeries, exploring new places, hunting for antiques, and admiring flowers every single day.

Have you ever been? If not, the tulip festival might be worth adding to your bucket list! I could easily visit the fields every week to watch the blooms unfold.

Since I've been back, I've been dreaming up lots of new recipes for the blog. With the first of the season rhubarb trickling in from the fields, I just can't wait to start baking!

With Easter, Mother's Day, and lots of spring gatherings coming up, I wanted to share a few simple options to share.

As a self-taught home cook and baker, I've spent most of my life really looking forward to holidays since you finally get a chance to bake!

This is a great time to find a recipe that calls to you, give it a try, and see what you think.

P.S. I just published these cardamom blondies yesterday. They're made with my homemade cardamom extract and cardamom sugar, and taste incredible. They're crispy on the edges, and wonderfully chewy on the inside,

Have a great weekend!

Hello Reader, Have you ever made your own homemade extracts? If not, you really should! They are so easy to make and once you get started, you start to imagine infinite possibilities. Extracts are actually one of the first kitchen projects I made when I really started getting interested in making pantry staples, baking with sourdough, culturing, and fermenting. They were one of the easiest, too! Plus since they take a while to infuse, it's best to start your extracts early, especially if you...

Hey, Reader, Happy Spring! What does it look like in your neck of the woods? We just got back from a drizzly stroll in the woods here and I know some of my readers are still dealing with snow. The first of my new patch of daffodils just opened the other day - right on time for the equinox. I check it every morning to see how it's doing and can't wait to see the season unfold! I've also been baking up a storm! The spring flavors are so exciting, and it feels nice to have a plate of freshly...

Hey, there! Are you seeing signs of spring in your neck of the woods? It felt like winter was never going to end, and then one day, I noticed I could hear the frogs croaking while I was throwing the ball for my dog at the park. Then I realized the birds were going wild, chirping and singing in the woods. And then I started to notice flowers emerging. Last fall, we had to tear out two dead bushes from our front yard, and planted dozens of daffodils and tulips. The flower bulbs have started to...
