⭐ A Week of New Posts

Hi, Reader!

Happy Saturday! It's hard to believe it's already been a week since my vintage show. I feel like I've been "just resting a bit" since then, and now it's somehow a week later.

Although the show didn't go quite as well as I hoped, it was lovely to get out and talk to other people who like the same things I do (old stuff!) and spend time with my family.

Fortunately, my "relaxed" rest state includes writing and updating a bunch of posts...I'd love to share them with you in case any of them are helpful!

Freshly Updated

These two posts are some of the FIRST I ever published on the blog.

They really break down exactly how and why I recommend keeping a well-stocked pantry. They also really needed a refresh!

Fall Pantry Staples to Stock Up on Before Winter

As the tomatoes and peppers fade away and the pumpkins and winter squash come out of the fields, it’s time to shift gears. These fall pantry staples will make it so much easier to cook from scratch, bake with the season, and preserve the harvest.

Inside the Homestead Kitchen Starter Kit

A few months ago, I created my Homestead Kitchen Starter Kit to help anyone start cooking, baking, and preserving at home. This digital guide makes it super simple to switch to a from-scratch way of eating. Whether or not you grab the kit, this post will walk you through the basic steps to set up a homestead kitchen, so you can start cooking from scratch right away.

Pear Ginger Muffins

Aromatic, intoxicating pears are a flavor experience on their own, but sometimes they need a little something to stand out. This is where ginger steps in! Its bright, cleansing warmth elevates the subtle pear flavor, making these ginger pear muffins extra special. Each one is tender and moist, studded with fresh pears, and nearly impossible to resist.

Apple Butter Cookies

Soft, buttery cookies melt away with puddles of concentrated apple butter in the middle. These apple butter cookies are such a treat, and an ideal way to use up a spare jar of apple butter!

Maple Pecan Scones
Homemade Maple Scones are light and fluffy with nutty pecans in every bite and a buttery maple glaze that takes them over the top. They’re also minimally sweetened, apart from the frosting, so you get all that maple flavor without the sugar rush!

Cranberry Walnut Oatmeal Cookies

Homemade oatmeal cranberry walnut cookies are soft and oh-so-chewy with oats, cranberries, and walnuts studded throughout. They’re a humble, simple cookie, but they really pack a flavor! The maple helps keep them nice and chewy on the inside, even after a couple of days. Best part? You can throw them together in no time with mostly pantry staples.

Chewy Snickerdoodle Blondies

With a crackly, cinnamon sugar crust and soft, chewy inside, these snickerdoodle blondies taste just like classic snickerdoodles but in bar form! But, you don’t have to fuss with rolling cookie dough at all. Just whisk together the batter, pour in a pan, and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. They’re a fun, last-minute dessert for holiday parties or anytime you have a cookie craving!

Hi, Reader! I have another new recipe to share with you! The first time I shared this one at a gathering, I had someone seriously offer to pay me to make them more. It’s one of those recipes people freak out about! Homemade pumpkin pie crumble starts with pumpkin pie on the bottom and a buttery, pecan-infused crumble topping that bakes up crisp and crunchy. The textures and flavors are spot on, and you don’t have to fuss with making a crust. Perfect Thanksgiving dessert! My secret is to use...

Hi, Reader! Happy Saturday! It's rainy, dark, and dreary this morning with a windstorm forecasted for this weekend. That means this is a great time to bake something lovely to enjoy *just in case* the ferocious winds knock over a power line. (Happens every year!) Whether the weather is calm where you are or roaring like a lion, feel free to preheat the oven and bake up something extra cozy. Fortunately, I've been publishing lots of recipes for you to choose from! These are all new recipes to...

Hi, Reader! In early November, my blogging friends and I are releasing a special bundle packed with ebooks, guides, and tools to help you make the most of this special time of year. It's called "Candlelight and Comfort," and my fall recipe ebook will be part of it! I created it specifically for this bundle, dreaming of sharing intentionally low-tech, grounding recipes to help people celebrate the season. But before the Candlelight & Comfort bundle officially launches, a few of us cozy-hearted...
