πŸŽ„πŸŽ Homemade Holiday Gifts

Hey, there!

With the holidays just around the corner, this is a great time to start some DIY projects to share with your friends and family.

These are some of my favorite projects and they make absolutely wonderful gifts. Just be sure to make some for yourself, too!

Homemade Sugar Cubes

This is one of my favorite little projects and the sugar cubes are absolutely adorable.

Plus, you don't have to use just a cube-shaped mold. You can use any sort of mold you'd like and also change the flavors to make custom vanilla cubes, orange cubes, etc.

Beeswax Candles

I make beeswax candles every December around the Solstice as a nod to the return of the light. They also make the most beautiful and thoughtful gifts!

Flavored Sugars

These always impress people, but they are ***so*** easy to make. Like, you usually just add 1 ingredient to sugar and either let it sit or heat it in the oven.

I have a few recipes on the blog to consider (with more coming):

Liqueurs

I've had so much fun dabbling with infused liqueurs this year! I love this spiced apple liqueur and this pear vanilla liqueur, but this lavender liqueur is lovely, too.

Extracts

If you've been here a while, you know I love making homemade extracts! Although vanilla extract is classic, this cardamom extract takes way less time (just 3 days)!

Infused Maple Syrup

This is one of the easiest ways to add extra flavor to your favorite recipes! I've been in love with this cinnamon maple syrup for pancakes and waffles.

We've been using this cardamom maple syrup on our French toast lately and also love to use it as a sweetener for coffee!

Chocolate Covered Nuts

Would I be happy to get a big box of homemade chocolate covered pecans or hazelnut clusters? That's an easy yes! They're so good and your friends and family will love them, too.

Chocolate Truffles

I first started making truffles as a kid and was instantly amazed at how easy they were. Like, did everyone know that most truffle fillings are just chocolate and cream?!

This two-ingredient truffle recipe is the perfect place to start if you're new to this skill!

Pear or Apple Butter

Both of these have a classic flavor that just screams the holidays! They're warm, sweet, and loaded with flavor, which you can add to cookies, cakes, a bowl of oatmeal, or, you know, just eat it with a spoon!

Since they're made with seasonal produce, they're typically pretty affordable to make, too. And the jars look gorgeous with a little piece of cloth and twine tied on top!

Slow Cooker Caramel Pear Butter

Old Fashioned Apple Butter

You might also like this caramel apple jam. It's another cozy, warm option and quite simple to make!

Sugar Scrubs

You just need a few ingredients to make a seasonal sugar scrub, like this cranberry sugar scrub. My favorite is this vanilla bean sugar scrub because it has real vanilla flecks!

There are also salt scrubs, lip scrubs, and more on the blog!

Vanilla Bean Paste

Did you know you can make your own vanilla bean paste at home? You just need 3 ingredients! It's way cheaper than getting the fancy stuff at the store, too.

This would be a great gift for an avid baker!

Whipped Honey

Creamed (or whipped) honey has a luscious, marshmallow-like texture, and it tastes like heaven on toast or pancakes.

I've even added some flavor variations to make it your own! My chocolate whipped honey has been going wild on TikTok lately (and for good reason).

Room Sprays

This lavender spray is gentle enough to spray right on your pillow before bed. I also love to make this eucalyptus spray as a room freshener!

DIY Recipe Binder

Use this vintage-style recipe binder template to pass down those family favorite recipes. I've been using this template to organize my own recipe binder, too!

Ready for the Winter Solstice? ❄️

This is my favorite time of the year because it really helps me deepen my connection with nature and I love watching how the daylight gradually returns!

It's also a powerful time for self-reflection, which I use to put the current year to bed and get crystal clear on what I want to achieve in the next. I consider this process my *secret weapon.* Knowing myself and what I want so clearly makes it easier to succeed.

You can get your own copy of my reflection guide here.

I've also published a podcast episode about Celebrating the Winter Solstice! That's right. The podcast is back! Listen here.

You can also explore my Etsy shop for my solstice cards, bookmarks, invitations, coloring pages, gift tags, party invitations, and more.

Have a wonderful weekend! I hope you make something fun and get to spend time with people you love.

Hey, Reader, Happy Spring! What does it look like in your neck of the woods? We just got back from a drizzly stroll in the woods here and I know some of my readers are still dealing with snow. The first of my new patch of daffodils just opened the other day - right on time for the equinox. I check it every morning to see how it's doing and can't wait to see the season unfold! I've also been baking up a storm! The spring flavors are so exciting, and it feels nice to have a plate of freshly...

Hey, there! Are you seeing signs of spring in your neck of the woods? It felt like winter was never going to end, and then one day, I noticed I could hear the frogs croaking while I was throwing the ball for my dog at the park. Then I realized the birds were going wild, chirping and singing in the woods. And then I started to notice flowers emerging. Last fall, we had to tear out two dead bushes from our front yard, and planted dozens of daffodils and tulips. The flower bulbs have started to...

Hey, there, Especially if you’re living on a budget, you need a well-stocked pantry. It’s a vital safety net during challenging times and literally everyone should have at least a few basic staples on hand at all times. When food becomes inaccessible, we tend to enter into panic mode, which permeates into every part of our lives. Spreading fear is...
