Hello, Reader, Whew, what a whirlwind! This month truly flew by. How were your holidays? Now that the chaos of Christmas is over, I'm ready to sink into winter. This is the best time to focus on rest, and as someone who practices seasonal slow living, this is an essential part of my annual rhythm. Lots of people like to set new year's resolutions and goals, but this process is what you need to do BEFORE that. It helps you stop, look back, and realize what worked and what didn't. Every winter, I make a big mug of tea, print out whichever pages I want to complete from my printable guide (usually all of them), and I spend some time getting centered before I start. Then, I follow the pages to get a crystal clear picture of where I started, where I am now, and where I want to go. Honestly, I consider this process my "secret to success." It helped me make massive, transformational changes in my life, relationships, and businesses to gradually build a life that actually feels like my own. Anyway, I normally share recipes and such and you can totally find more of those on the blog or in my seasonal magazine, but I only share this tool once a year and now is the time. I've got it on sale until the end of the year and once you buy it once, you'll have it to reuse year after year. Take care of yourself! Have a wonderful weekend! |

Hi, Reader, If you ever need a dessert quickly, blondies and brownies are my go-to. One bowl, throw it together, then bake! They're great warm on their own, with ice cream for special occasions, or even just standing over the kitchen sink for a quick snack. P.S. All of my blondies recipes are formulated for 8x8 square metal pans, BUT you can double them to make enough for a 9x13 metal pan. This is really handy if you're making a bunch for a party or something!PRO TIP: If the batter is a...
Hi, Reader, Are you trying to be more hands-on in your kitchen? Sometimes we call it self-sufficiency, which it is in a way. Sometimes we call it being frugal, which it can be (not always). But for me, I always see it as a chance for creative expression. I really think that's one of the things that separates me from other bloggers and content creators. I'm not all about the cheapest of everything ever (for better or worse), and I still layer in and practice many, many old-fashioned skills....
Hi, Reader, How's your week been? It's been WILD over here. I just sent out the Spring issue of The Handmade Year a few days ago, and then setup my new booth at a local antique mall! Want to see some pics? For The Handmade Year, I wanted it to be a pure celebration of Spring with lots of strawberries, rhubarb, and herbs. I'm so happy with how this issue turned out, and absolutely loved making these recipes. I'll be bringing some with me to Easter celebrations this weekend, too! For the booth,...
