๐Ÿ† Best of 2025

Hello, Reader,

Calm me nosey, but I think it's so interesting to know which posts get the most traffic on different blogs.

Sometimes, it's something totally random that you wouldn't expect and other times, it's a post you definitely didn't know about and absolutely should!

At the end of every year, I like to take stock of which posts got the most traffic on my own blog, and just had to share with you.

Do any of these surprise you?

๐Ÿ† Most Popular Posts of 2025

10. Dill Salt

I'm honestly not sure why this one is so popular, but hey, I'll take it! It's a nice way to use up leftover fresh dill, especially if you're growing it this year.

9. Vanilla Bean Paste

Yep, you can make this baking essential at home! My recipe uses just three ingredients, including vanilla extract and spent vanilla beans.

8. Vanilla Simple Syrup

Infusing real vanilla bean into your simple syrup adds so much flavor and richness! I'm not too surprised by this one at all.

7. Honey Wheat Sourdough Bread

This is one of those recipes that always turns out great. Soft, tender, and slightly sweet with a nutty whole wheat flavor!

6. Setting Up a Homesteading Kitchen

If you want to cook from scratch and preserve the harvest, you really need to make sure you have the right equipment on hand. This post guides you through what you'll need to make it easier to get organized.

5. How to Make Whipped Honey

This super simple technique makes your honey thick and creamy, like a cloud of sweet marshmallow fluff. Not surprised by this one! I also include flavor variations, which most people don't do.

4. Cardamom Scones

I don't want to toot my own horn on these ones, but I totally understand why they're so popular. The mixture of homemade cardamom extract and cardamom sugar plus super soft and tender scones...delicately spiced, aromatic, buttery, and sweet. So good!

3. DIY Baking Powder

This one tends to spike before each holiday, which I assume means people are running out of baking powder from all their holiday baking. Always happy to help!

2. Slow Living Hobbies

This post has been one of my most popular ones for years. Really, it's just a good list of hobbies and activities to try to slow down this year.

1. What is an Ingredient Household?

I'm definitely surprised by this one! I published it last January, and had NO idea it would explode on social media and Google. I get thousands of people coming just for this post every month!

Honorable Mentions

These ones almost made the list for 2025. Maybe for 2026?

Any surprises here? Did you find any posts you hadn't seen before? I'd love to hear what you think!

Hi, Reader, After teaching myself to garden over 12 years ago, there is one type of plant I wish I'd planted earlier - fresh herbs. ๐ŸŒฟ I was working at a farmers market at the time, and I was way more interested in vegetables. I wanted heaps of tomatoes, zucchini, onions, and more. If I grew any herbs, it was usually basil or cilantro to use in pesto and salsa. This wasn't a bad idea in any way. I was growing what I knew I would use and enjoy! But here's the thing...herbs can shift how you use...

Hi, Reader, Happy Saturday! How has your week been? I'm exhaling a massive sigh of relief. If you've been following me for a while, you know I do vintage shows and sell antiques at two antique malls. Last week, I did my first show at The Great Junk Hunt. SO MUCH WORK. We've never refinished so much furniture and we truly pushed the limits of our abilities (maybe a little too far). The show went really well, though, and I met lots of great customers and vendors! But this week has all been...

Hi, Reader, If you ever need a dessert quickly, blondies and brownies are my go-to. One bowl, throw it together, then bake! They're great warm on their own, with ice cream for special occasions, or even just standing over the kitchen sink for a quick snack. P.S. All of my blondies recipes are formulated for 8x8 square metal pans, BUT you can double them to make enough for a 9x13 metal pan. This is really handy if you're making a bunch for a party or something!PRO TIP: If the batter is a...
